There Was A Time

about

This is my homage to the early nineties club scene in England (mainly Manchester), shaped by bands like The Charlatans, Primal Scream, Happy Mondays, Inspiral Carpets, EMF or The Stone Roses.

lyrics

THERE WAS A TIME

Early nineties on a farm
practicing some primal screams
having dragon soup for lunch
garnished with lightning seeds

Time has come for a new order − yeah, there’s no other way
gonna meet James at the corner − fully dressed in suede

There was a time when everything went fine
(almost unbelievable)

I've never been to "The Hacienda"
yet I felt good on the dance floor
we were all together now
we had super grass to-go

When I picked a lonely stone rose − I felt like a charlatan
it was a very happy monday – early nineties on a farm

Yeah, we felt like street preachers
on an inspiral carpet ride
the verve in us was growing
the oasis was so wide
