your place in a world that is disturbed

A gag in your face, a chain at your feet
you might bleed - but one time you’ll be thankful for our creed
we might go too far and step in too deep
into a world that doesn’t need you and doesn’t want me

I could say I love you, but that would be weak
I could say I need you, before I go to sleep
dreaming of another place, with courtesy and grace
it won’t be realized in this state

Maybe I’m more bound than you, cause all the things you do
don’t indicate any harm and suffering
so, we’re stuck here, and we are made by them
